CELEBRATING SUCCESS!
THE KALA GHODA ARTS FESTIVAL, 2010 HELD IN FEBRUARY THIS YEAR, WAS A ROARING SUCCESS AND TO CELEBRATE IT THE ENTIRE TEAM LED BY PALLAVI SHAHANE SHARMA AND BRINDA CHUDASAMA MILLER PARTIED TILL THE WORLD WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING AT PENNE, JUHU AT A DO HOSTED BY CHEF MAX ORLATI.
ARZAAN KAMBATTA, SALIM ASGARALLY, BINA AZIZ AND CHEF MAX HAD ALSO MADE SHORT FILMS FOR THE FESTIVAL WHICH WERE SCREENED FOR AN ESTEEMED AUDIENCE. WHILE ARZAAN KAMBATTA’S FILM WAS A HILARIOUS TAKE ON A MAN FINDING A WAY OUT OF THE NOISE IN MUMBAI, SALIM ASGARALLY’S ‘THE DRESS’ WAS ABOUT A JOURNEY OF A DRESS FROM THE DESIGN TO THE PERSON WEARING IT AND HOW VARIOUS FORMS OF EXPRESSION CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER AND BINA AZIZ’S ‘ROCUMENTARY’, A FILM SHE MADE WITH KAYANI AND MADHURI, WAS ABOUT SOME OF THE GREATEST LEGENDS OF MUSIC DYING YOUNG. CHEF MAX TOOK THE AUDIENCE THROUGH HIS EXPERIENCE OF SHOPPING FOR SEA FOOD IN MUMBAI IN HIS ‘MAXIMUM CITY’. THE DRESS, ROCUMENTARY AND MAXIMUM CITY WERE PRODUCED BY THE KALA GHODA ARTS FESTIVAL IN COLLABORATION WITH TEAM AVAANTI ENTERTAINMENT LED BY AAKASH THAKKAR.
THAT IS NOT ALL. CHEF MAX, DESIGNER SALIM ASGARALLY AND WRITER AND FILMMAKER VINTA NANDA HAVE ALSO DECIDED TO JOIN HANDS TO HELP THE FISHERMEN OF KHAR DANDA FISHERMEN’S VILLAGE IN BANDRA TO CLEAN THE BEACH WHERE THE VILLAGE RESTS AND TURN ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES OF MUMBAI WHICH HAS BEEN VANDALIZED BY MINDLESS URBANIZATION AROUND, TO BE A DELIGHT FOR ITS INHABITANTS BY MOBILIZING ITS PEOPLE, ADMINISTRATION AND POLITICOS. COME APRIL, THE TEAM IS GOING TO ORGANIZE A SEAFOOD AND MUSIC FESTIVAL WITH A FASHION SHOW BY SALIM ASGARALLY AT THE JETTY IN BANDRA. AN ANNOUNCEMENT WAS MADE BY CHEF MAX AT THE EVENT LAST NIGHT.
It was one helluva party which went on till the end of the night where Vindoo Dara Singh with his wife, Neena Gupta, Anu Ranjan, Anju Mahendroo, Filmmakers Kalpana Lajmi, Saurabh and Barnali Shukla and Aijaz Khan, Choreographer Achala Sachdev, Social Activist Rinki Bhattacharya, Producers Bob Brahmbhatt, Suryaveer Singh Bhullar and Akash Thakker, young filmmakers and writers Shiv Bhalla, Debo and Zack, Cinematographer John Wilmore, Actors Gary Richardson, Brinda Parekh, Graphic Artiste and DJ Jacopo, Sunil and Krishika Lulla lived it up with Brinda Chudasama Miller, Pallavi Shahane Sharma, Shirin and Jamshed Barucha, Jyoti Karmarkar, Filmmaker and Writer Vinta Nanda, Jai Ranjit, Gita, Smriti Garach, Photographer Nitesh and Akanksha Gupta of the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival Team.
